Size Conversion Guide
Shopping from Taobao, Tmall, and 1688 means products are usually listed in Chinese (Asian) sizing — which runs differently (and often smaller) than US, UK, or EU sizing. This guide helps you find your fit with confidence.
The #1 rule: measure, don’t guess. Chinese sizes can run 1–2 sizes smaller than US sizes, and sizing varies from seller to seller. The most reliable method is always to check the seller’s own measurements (most listings include a size chart in centimeters) and compare them to your own body measurements. Use the charts below as a starting reference — then confirm against the actual listing before you order.
How to use this guide
- Measure yourself (see the Measurement Guide below) and write down your numbers in cm.
- Open the product listing and find the seller’s size chart — almost all include measurements in cm.
- Match your measurements to the listing’s chart. When you’re between sizes, size up — Chinese sizing tends to run small.
- Use the conversion tables below to translate Chinese/Asian, US, UK, and EU sizes when a listing doesn’t give measurements.

Chinese children’s clothing is most often labeled by height in centimeters — this is the most reliable way to choose. Match your child’s height to the size below.

Tip: measure your foot length in the evening (feet swell slightly during the day) and add ~0.5–1 cm of room for comfort.

Chinese sellers often list ring size by inner circumference (mm) or by a number that matches it. Match the circumference to your US ring size.

To measure: wrap a strip of paper around your finger, mark where it meets, and measure the length in mm — that’s your circumference.

Cup size: Cups (A, B, C, D…) broadly align with US cups, but Chinese cups often run a size smaller — if you’re between cups, size up. Always check the listing’s underbust/bust cm chart.

Match your head circumference (measure around the widest part, just above the ears and eyebrows).

Measurement Guide
All you need is a soft tape measure. Measure over light clothing and keep the tape snug but not tight.
- Chest / Bust: around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape level.
- Waist: around the narrowest part of your natural waistline (above the belly button).
- Hips: around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
- Inseam: from the top of your inner thigh down to your ankle (or measure a pair of pants that fit well).
- Foot length: stand on a piece of paper, mark the back of your heel and the tip of your longest toe, and measure the distance.
- Head: around the widest part of your head, just above the ears and eyebrows.
Inches ↔ Centimeters
- 1 inch = 2.54 cm
- 1 cm = 0.394 inches
- Quick examples: 5 in = 12.7 cm · 10 in = 25.4 cm · 20 in = 50.8 cm
To convert inches to cm, multiply by 2.54. To convert cm to inches, multiply by 0.394.

These charts are a general reference. Because each Chinese seller cuts their products a little differently, the seller’s own size chart (in cm) is always the most accurate guide — please check it on each listing before ordering. When you’re unsure or between sizes, size up.
